FHSAA Eligibility Items (Florida)

FHSAA Eligibility Items are fields that required by the FHSAA in order for an athlete to be eligible to participate in competition. Athletes will show in three different colors on the clearance page depending on their eligibility status: Red- Ineligible, Green- Eligible, Blue- Eligible but no GPA input (only applicable to 9th graders until the GPA grace period has elapsed.

These Eligibility Items field can be found at the top of an athlete's clearance detail page. 

*Birthday - Automatically populates based on info entered during online Clearance process.

*EL2 - The date when the PreParticipation Physical was signed by the physician will be entered by a School Administrator. Schools that have a Physical Day can use Bulk Action feature to mass enter the EL2 date.

*EL3 - Automatically populates when the athlete/parent clicks Save & Continue in the Files section of the online Clearance process.

*GPA - The GPA will need to be updated multiple times throughout the course of the year. Incoming 9th and 6th graders will not need GPAs entered until the first grading period has elapsed. The GPA can be updated using the GPA import option.

*DE9 - Input the exact date when the student began the 9th grade. This field can be mass entered using the Bulk Action feature.

EL5 - Students who had invalid GPAs can complete the EL5 to gain eligibility. This field is not required to be completed for each student.

GA4 - Transfer students must complete the GA4 document and schools must enter the date the GA4 was signed. This field is not required to be completed for each student.

*Insurance - Automatically populates based on info entered during online Clearance process.

*US Birth Certificate -Automatically populates based on info entered during online Clearance process.

*Student Type - School admin must indicate the student type by selecting Traditional or Non-Traditional bubble. This field can be mass entered using the Bulk Action feature.

*Items with an asterisk are required fields in order for an athlete to be shown as eligible on Home Campus.

The FHSAA Eligibility Items section will show in Red when there is a field that invalidates the student. The specific field will be denoted with an ! icon to let you know how to proceed.

The Eligibility check is not run automatically when information is entered. Click "Save" in the Eligibility Items box to formally run this check.
